Hello!
I have a situation. I'm in a position to get either of the two variants, for acoustic treatment of a non-dedicated control room. It's a square room, 3.9m x 4.1m x 2.7m so the back wall will be an issue, given that the setup is placed against the window, which is on the smaller (3.9m) side, and I'm sitting 1.5m from the wall.
Rockwool RWA45 (SL 920) (Flexiboard) (40-45 kg/m3): - 8 bass traps (200mm) thickness, standing in the corner with an air gap behind them
- 6 broadband absorbers (100mm thickness)
Rockwool RW3 (SL 930) (Multiboard) (55-60 kg/m3)
- 8 bass traps (150mm) thickness, standing in the corner with an air gap behind them
- 6 broadband absorbers (100mm thickness)
I could without any issue go and get another pack to get RW3 traps at 200mm if that's a better option. I would very much prefer to to have the rear wall traps/absorbers at 150mm.
I need 8 bass traps, three for corners and two for the back wall. There's a door in the corner, placed awkwardly so that it opens all the way to the wall, (the doorknob is hitting the wall at some 87 degrees, so yeah, they're installed right next to the wall), so placing anything on or near them is gonna be clunky.
Thank you very much.

Obviously, thicker bass traps are better, and the entire wall behind you should be covered with thick bass traps. But 15 cm is pretty good, especially with an air gap. So you should be fine just leaving it at that.
