Hi everyone,
I have a question about how ya'll would set up your listening position as well as treatment in this room.
let me explain the dimensions as well as the whole color scheme going on here:
Wall A is 15' 5"
Wall B is 23' 7"
Wall C is 11' 9" and is where the entrance door is.
Wall D is 12' and has a closet door right in the middle of it.
Wall E is 3' 8"
Wall F is 11' 7"
Ceiling is a typical 8'
the white gaps on wall A and B are windows (i will also add that wall A and B are exterior walls so they are insulated. i believe they are the only insulated surfaces in the room)
Now as far as wall material here are where the colors come in...
Red walls are covered with thin 3/16" wood paneling and nothing more (with walls A and B having insulation behind them)
Blue walls are covered with 3/8" sheetrock as well as 3/16" wood paneling on top of it ( with wall B having insulation behind it)
and the little section of green is either 3/4 or 1" wood (it used to be an exterior wall)
the ceiling is 3/8 sheetrock and the floor is 7mm laminate wood flooring. (I will also note that the house is on blocks and has wood subfloor)
the "red room" was a later addition and is why the wall materials are a bit mismatched (not too sure why they didn't sheetrock it up though, but it is what it is)
so at this point i'll explain my intended purpose for this room:
my plan is to have a neutral sounding "hybrid" room consisting of both a tracking room as well as my control room. so wherever my desk and monitors are going to go, a drum kit is most likely going to be on the other side of it. (I will also add that i am an avid drum collector so most of the empty space is this room is going to be filled with my constantly expanding collection... God help me)
so considering the size, layout and material inconsistency of this room, what do ya'll think would be the ideal spot to set up monitors here? and also how would you treat each wall differently?
