Hi people. I require some help on a current space I have acquired for my studio/production purposes. I didn’t have the greatest choice of spaces, and amongst timing, I’ve been desperate to get back to work following leaving my last studio space due to robbery. I’ve measured the room and created visual room plan via magic plan app, I’d say this is a close to exact, maybe slightly off but only by a small lil measurements. I adjusted slightly at a later editable stage of the plan, so I was able to match as much as I could. I’ve attached pictures also to be able to gather a better perspective. There’s an image with a passage to another room, this has been made a wall, the only exits being the door and windows. Now as I’ve come aware a L shaped room can be of some difficulty, as of choice I wasn’t able to choose any other so I hope to make the most of this room. I’d be happy to know all possible solutions and adjustments I could make. As I need information on Speaker Placements, Foam Placements, Floor treatment - concrete or ceramic tiles, Ceiling treatment office like panels, Acoustic Panel Placement, Door sound proofing, Window Sound Proofing, Desk Placement My purpose of the space being Music Production, Sound Design, Listening. Where I want to make the room natural but most definitely treated as much as I require. I want great low end and high responses this is a must. Where I believe, I don’t need the most refined treatment for a music studio however I will go as far as it takes for an ideal scenario. I speak vaguely as I’m not sure as a whole what I must do and where things should be placed. The room will have an element of games consoles, large screen, Sofa’s, Plants. I don’t want to make it a strict studio with complete 100 perfect acoustic and sound proofing treatment, I want the make the room inspirational so I will fill as much spaces I can in the studio with things. Although I can’t or wont design around leisure things, I need to get all placements sure before I can design around the music equipment. I wanted natural light although I know windows are problematic so I will treat them although would still like to make use of them, although I will prefer it blacked out in most cases to preserve privacy. Just want the choice of natural light when I need. One scenario I’ve wondered should I fill up the bottom right area up with things, by this I was thinking storage wardrobe, Cube storage where I would put vinyl’s. But would this be efficient enough? Should I just treat this area accordingly also? I need as much help and info as I could get please, thank you Much appreciated. J

I'm not downloading anything. Feel free to upload the images here. You can use something like resizeimage.net/ to keep them under 100kB. Thanks.

That's a tight fit. With something like that, the best you can do is put your desk against the window - hopefully you can turn that radiator off - and stuff the rest of the space with absorption. Don't use foam; in this case, I'd specifically recommend rigid since it'll save you space.
Ultimately, it's an easy case because you have such few options. I really don't think you should put anything but treatment and your essential equipment. It just depends how much you want to improve it. Up to 8" rigid or even 1' of fluffy.

Thank you for your response, its much appreciated
Yes, i can remove the radiator. In regards to desk placement would it be in the middle of the windows or against the radiator/long window.
Also could you elabrate on what you mean by should only do treatment, you mean like panels, sound proofing.
What do you mean by 8" rigid and 1 ' fluffly.
Are you explaining in regards to a full renovation with different walls? and your suggesting i use just foam panels and bass traps/ usual stuff.. sorry my understanding isnt great

You want your desk to be pretty much centered. Off by an inch or so is ok. You also want everything from your ears forward as symmetrical as possible. This helps you with stereo imaging so that one side isn't louder/bassier/too different than the other.
Panels aren't proofing. Proofing is when sound doesn't get in or out. Panels are treatment and that just makes the sound in the room more dead. 'Dead' sounds bad but, just like any poison, it's good in the right amount. In your case, you need a lot of panels.
Rigid is rigid insulation like rockwool or OC 703. Fluffy is what you find at regular hardware stores and has numbers like Rxx. Please review the stickies for more information.
Don't use foam, if you can avoid it. Stick with the above materials. Obviously, if you can renovate then so much the better. What I'm saying is based on what already exists. Again, please try to read this forum at your leisure to soak up some previous case examples.
Thanks.
