Hi there,
I recently moved and am in the process of setting up a new room as my home project studio for recording and mixing. I was in my other room for around 7 years and Ethan had assisted me a bit in setting that up via forums in the past. When I saw this forum was active, I was ecstatic. It is wonderful to see a community helping each other so we don't have to "go it alone." This will be mainly for rock mixing and recording. A live room is hopefully to follow. I treated the listening area and first reflections for a RFZ.
Any advice or help in flattening the response would be greatly appreciated. Software or Hardware EQs are not out of the question. What ever would help the room I would love to try. Thank you in advance!! You guys are the best.
Room and treatment info: - The room is a rectangle 11'W X 21.5'L X 8'H
- Bookshelf 1' deep built into the back wall.
- Door in the listening area to the left.
- 2 windows in the room, one in the listening area.
- 4 ceiling cloud panels - 2'x4' 6" deep each - 2 1/2" gap - Roxul Safe and Sound
- Both windows are filled with 3" of Roxul safe and Sound
- Corners are filled - floor to ceiling with Roxul Safe and Sound.
- Top of bookshelf to ceiling is filled with 1' Roxul safe and Sound
- Panels are 3" Roxul Safe and Sound with 1" gap.
- Listening position is 38% from front wall.
- Speakers are Presonus Sceptre 6 Coaxial
- Sub is Presonus 8" and I have not put it in play yet. I wonder if it is the right sub for this room.

Thanks a ton for looking it over. I guess it is time to start learning the space.

Sure thing. It's not to say it can't be improved but you're meeting or exceeding the standard. Right around now, you're starting to reach the point of diminishing returns.
But ya, getting to work is always good.

Hexspa, I am sure along the way there will be little changes here and there. I am itching to put some hours in. I am just very thankful for a place like this and guys like you. I am always learning!
