Hey -m, Was off line for awhile, catching up now. Great video, very clear and detailed, Thanks! About the 1/4 wavelength of the ceiling mode (any mode fro that matter), yeah, I guess it makes sense to put an absorber horizontal midway between the ceiling and floor but practically, I think it will be in the way. Even though, it might be cool to experiment to see what results you get. Maybe you can borrow saw horses or rig a makeshift stand? As far as reflection point absorbers on the floor VS ceiling, you will benefit from both or either but usually the ceiling cloud is out of the way and can be thicker and spaced from the ceiling whereas the best you can usually do with the floor is to use a thick pad and rug/carpet. If you can't put holes in the ceilings/walls you are, of course, limited. Maybe you can consult a painter to see what it would cost to patch holes and paint when you move? It might be worth it? Cheers, Rock Cool. I was just questioning conventional wisdom. A foaf told me psychedelics use can make you do that. Thanks for the props - and the vid suggestion. Much to my chagrin holes were made. Don't tell anyone. If you want to see my glamorous facility I put a link in the Audio Central section under the thread Infinite Null Studio Tour. Thanks, -m

Analysis: Frequency - Better extension from about 40Hz to about 35Hz from a peak. Whereas my greatest peak before was at 70Hz, now it's approaching 90Hz (front-to-rear axial and several lesser modes). The null at 150Hz seems to be worse now (no modal support between 141 and 165Hz) but my 200-300Hz range has flattened out by 5dB on either side (Schroeder Frequency approx 183Hz). Waterfall - The Q of the waterfall now seems to have less sharp features and ringing has been reduced at 70Hz. Ringing around 90Hz is now the worst which appears to be caused by my side walls. Basically my rear and side walls are causing problems in the 84-90Hz range. Decay: I am mostly achieving 20dB of decay at 150ms except below 53Hz. Not sure why there's so much ringing there. 53Hz's half wavelength actually corresponds to my side-to-side dimension of 10.33ft so again, maybe more treatment there would help. Overall: I'm pretty satisfied. It's an improvement. I achieved some objectives: built super chunks, reupholstered and recombined my old panels, applied some knowledge gained over the past few years, pretty much 100% treated my rear wall and am enjoying the benefits of speakers further away (perhaps too far away). I actually didn't think I'd get this good of a response but hey that's what work will get you. I'll probably make one more video covering this information about this room in the Acoustic Treatment Chronicles series then close that chapter out. Personally I hope to be out of this place asap and into a house or dedicated workspace. Thanks to everyone who helped including Ethan, the members of this forum and my instructors at Berklee Online! Back to work -m
