Hi. Is the Averaging function in Room EQ wizard legit to use? I mean if I get a reading at the listening position then move the mic around a few inches front and back then average those three, and the reading looks better, can I rely on that or should I focus on the individual ones more?
I'm not keen on averaging multiple readings because that's not what people will hear. Someone in one place will hear one response, and someone elsewhere will hear a different response. I think it makes for sense to aim for a response that's not too terrible anywhere in the room.
