Hi All,
Just a suggestion and I imagine many of the members and visitors are doing this already but if not, I hope you take this advice:
Many of the questions and answers here revolve around the same or similar situations. If you follow the threads here, you will see a trend. After awhile, you should probably see the commonality of pretty much every room disused here. If you visit this site regularly, you know this.
Here's the point:
If you are not a "regular" and you happen to be reading this post and are really only here to ask a question about you own room, you're missing lots!
Please bookmark this forum and visit often, take the time to read about other acoustic situations and you'll glean info and learn more about how you can improve your own room by reading other's threads in addition to your own.
Cheers, Rock

Thanks Rock,
I couldn't agree more!
A few more suggestions for all members of this excellent forum:
1. once your subject/question has been answered - please leave the subject alone and get on with fixing up your room and playing some music.
2. Use your ears. Theory is important because it guides us to common problems and solutions. However the best solution is when you are happy with the sound in your room. If you have any doubts or suspect problems in your mid and bass frequencies (majority of room acoustic problems) get a "bass staircase" test file and you will immediately hear if you have any problem areas in your room.
3. Don't obsess about your room - fix the main acoustic problem/s and get on with making music. Acoustics is a game of diminishing returns.
4. You need to listen to your headphones as much as your speakers - to constantly check you are on the right track.
Here's to more new questions and challenges.
Best Regards. Nigel Spiers NZ Acoustics Ltd

LOL, thanks guys. No, thank you, Ethan, for your talent with computer programming books that provided me countless hours upon hours of entertainment! It was very nice to find you (also) involved in Audio! Me, I enjoy talking about remastering and what the definition REALLY should mean. Love what some call (DAW) . What problems did man have when initially mastering for audio CD; those kinds of topics I enjoy. Most of the music I enjoy starts from the mid '50's into the '80's [Pop music]. I don't care to hear it as it originally sounded, but more impressive sounding audio. Will post some topics soon. Thank you again for your talent, oh and your recording console (photo) = NICE! Like electronics, too
Jack
