I m trying to record the voice of an actor and I know it should be captured dry, I have also diffusers in the back of the room. this is the room drive.google.com/file/d/0B1KP5jusZIeERG9PT0tFTS1pOWc/view?usp=sharingI m using a vocal booth similar to The RealTraps Portable Vocal Booth (PVB) realtraps.com/art_booth.htm placed on the desk ( see pic from my room. Im recording only voice - not music for now ---- is it necessary for the actor to wear headphones for a good result because of t he acoustically treated space ? I read different opinions on that . Many thanks

The primary reason for HPs is to hear other tracks, either pre recorded or live, without them getting into the mic. If the talent will not need to hear anything else, there is no need for HPs.

I assume she does not even need to listen her voice from the speakers for better results correct?
( Ethan suggests something like that in low volume and reverse polarity - but dont know how I can do it and my mic is super sensitive. )

If there is no audio program to sync to or follow, there is no practical need for the talent to hear herself through HPs or monitors. Now, if the actor just wants to hear her voice in the cans, that's a different story, give her a set of cans. I don't think it will make any difference except it might make her feel better and that's reason enough. I would avoid playing the monitors in the studio with a live mic but if it's low enough, it might not make much of a difference either.
