I tried but was unable to download a drawing. What I have in mind is two membrane traps back to back, using one sheet of fiberglass. So basically plywood - 2" air gap- 2" fiberglass - 2" air gap - plywood. total only 6 " deep. Then placed straddling the corner. Will this be effective at all?

I don't think this will work or if it does do anything, I have no idea what it will do...however, if you really want to experiment, you could try. If you do, you should have a "control" data set (acoustic measurement of your empty room) and then test your design and go from there.
For practical purposes, porous absorbers are highly recommended over resonant membrane absorbers. Please read the other posts regarding resonant membrane absorbers for more details.
