Hello all. This question is more about Aesthetics than it is about audio /acoustics. I am still in the beginning stage of my small studio build. In other posts I mentioned that my room had an old carpet in it that I am going to be removing. It will be replaced with laminate flooring. I am really not very good when it comes to choosing colours and was wondering what the floors in your rooms looked like. What I can say is that my walls are light in colour (salmon), my Argosy console is black, my digital mixer is sort of a polished nickel I guess and I may be putting in a chocolate coloured couch at the back of the room. Here is something that caught our eye. What do you folks think? Attachments:

Please, post a picture of your room in its current state. (So we can see it colors). Also which color is the ceiling? + Maybe pictures of your console and digital mixer (if possible). Let's make those colors perfect !

Let's make those colors perfect ! The lighting isn't great. No the walls are NOT pink they are more of a salmon colour. The ceiling is a flat white. Sorry about the massive picture size.

@pasim That is hilarious. I was the one who refused to look at any flooring that was in the grey shades. Today my wife suggested that perhaps I should paint the room. The existing colour is one that my eldest daughter chose when she still lived with us. Decisions, decisions, decisions !
Thanks for those links by the way. I will bookmark them for future reference.

I can't do grey. I know that I would get tired of that colour in a hurry. But, I welcome all suggestions and am very thankful.

I like white paint but if you like color, primary blue is very calming. Maybe you want to go with wood plank paneling which is more authentic than sheet paneling. Once you decide on the wall finish, choose the floor. But if you ask me, get rid of the salmon.

What I had completely neglected to figure into this equation was that most of my wall surface and some of the ceiling will be draped in acoustic paneling. So, perhaps that is where the color of the fabric that I use will be of more importance. Thank you all for sharing your ideas and recommendations with me. Have a safe and wonderful Sunday all. Update: The laminate flooring install was completed yesterday. Amazing how "boomy" that room sounds now. Absorption, absorption, absorption! Sorry about the picture size.
