Hello everyone! So I have FINALLY started building my first reflection sound panels and clouds ( corner bass traps are coming) So I've done a lot of reading about first reflection panel placement however, my speakers are not typical monitors OR standard floor standing speakers that would normally be placed "in" the room. I am using a pair of corner horns. Because the horns are nearly against the wall, will this change the method of determining first reflection panel placement? Secondly..The second picture i attached clearly shows the Soffit in the middle of my room. My listening position is just behind the soffit. How would one acoustically treat this? Acoustic clouds, how should these be positioned? Thanks, Erik Attachments:

I'm not sure but the "mirror test" may reveal reflections from the opposite wall speaker more than the speaker on the same side. In any case, your RFZ panel will be somewhere between the speaker and the listening position on the side walls.
The cloud(s) should be between the speaker and the listening position. If that area is in the front (speaker side) of the soffit, your clouds might overlap the soffit and the area in front too. If you want a larger cloud, consider covering most of the soffit. if you need some in front, another panel on each side of the soffit along the sight lines. If the soffit is a source of flutter echoes, the clouds might help, especially if they are frameless and thick or angled across the soffit vertical/ceiling corner.

Also you might consider getting more dogs. They're extremely absorbent at LF.
