Another thread and search about headphones let me puzzled a lit bit.
Is there any ressources for a rational take on headphones.
What the forum's experts have to say about headphones that can be usefull to us non-professionals and professional.

No, not a ton, but I can think of a few: Casual low-fi listening, Critical hi-fi listening, Monitoring, Mixing, Listening in loud environments (noise cancelling), Tracking drums and other loud acoustic instruments (isolating) and anything I missed.
Some of the non-sonic characteristics or features you may look for are comfort, lightweight, wearability for long periods, durability from abuse (if you run a studio, this last one is no joke. For that, my go to in the mid to late '80's was AKG K240's. I'm talking about the ones made in Austria. The ones I had got sold with the studio decades ago:( I have read reviews that the Chinese made ones don't hold up as good. Caveat emptor.
A set good for one application may not be as good for another.

With audio room : there's principles that covers all fields (like acoustic has more effect than changing DAC or speaker's cΓ’ble). That's the kind of informations I'm looking for. By the way I found this web site. www.rtings.com/headphones/reviews/superlux/hd-681

Headphones are the greatest thing headphones help you when you sing I wish my neighbors had a set so I can rest when I'm in bed
They cancel out the noise of life though they do not mute the wife headphones are the best, you see for listening to a melody
For, if you mix, they'll let you hear all the horrors that you fear every click and every sigh the rumble when that truck drove by
the balances you can't set right the bass that keeps you up at night the resonance on every voice the hiss of tape and other noise
but they are not like earbuds, no! those are for the Average Joe! we are Engineers - 'till death! And headphones be our only friend.
