Anyone else listen to music through a filter?
I find coffee filters really tame the harshness of an NS-Ten.
Really, I mean iPhones. I haven't measured one but I saw a post that showed a HPF at about 500Hz and two peaks - 5kHz and 7kHz then another roll off.
Given that, like many of you, I make music - and the Mixcube isn't quite perfect - I want to focus on the audio band that translates most widely. You know - sub bass, small speakers, no bueno, etc.
Anyone else go through this? Just listening to ranges for awhile? Or do you analyze individual tracks one at a time?
There's the added benefit that I can crank my stereo speakers without disturbing my neighbors.

Yeah, it's mainly about bass instruments being audible on small speakers. Some people use plugins but all those do is what you could do at the synth or sound design level.
