You kill two birds with one stone by using FRK as a facing for your broadband absorbers.
FRK acts as a limp mass membrane which is, in turn, directly dampened by the absorber. It also reflects above 1kHz, like I said.
We all want the best but, as beginners, we're generally not equipped to realize it on our first attempt.
It's totally normal to overcomplicate this. Apparently, most of us on this forum are fighting an uphill battle against ill-informed loudmouths who keep putting half-baked information into highly-produced and heavily-watched YouTube videos. Call me a hater.
But, no really! It's THAT simple. How complicated should it be? Minimize the influence of walls via frictional 'pillows'.
Alas, I was in your position too. Most of us were, I think. Our cup will simply not receive the master's tea.
