Some people suggest bass traps that fill the entire corner (using a triangle shaped wedge) while other people suggest having an air gap between the panel and the apex of the corner.
So what is the truth/rhyme/reason of the matter?

Here's a topic we have beaten to death. Please read all the info here and do your searches first. Ethan has explained about the economy of gapping and "holes" created by gapping farther than the panel thickness.
We have pointed out many times that straddling a panel across a corner is an efficient way to get the most bang for your buck. If you have the $$, fill the entire space. Better yet, instead of straddling a 2' width across a corner, straddle a 4' length across the corner...(floor to ceiling). If you want more, fill in the space in the gap or use a solid triangle...same thing. Is this overkill? IDK, take measurements to verify. YMMV.
