Thanks for the info.
I certainly can't dispute what they are saying but I'd really like to see the data and the tests they are talking about. From the way it has been previously explained and I currently understand, the one inch max does not make sense so I do question this finding. I however would love to see and accept whatever is supported by thorough tests. If we never get any solid data, maybe someday I can do some kind of testing myself?

Aren't they talking about some kind of pressure build up? Not sure that matters to the point of negating all other factors. Moving a panel away from a boundary brings it closer to the velocity portion of longer waves.
Let them post measurements and documentation of their process. Not saying they're wrong but having grey hair and saying, "That's a misconception," only gets you so far.
