New here. Been mucking about in the audio space mainly as a dilettante for many years.
I have equipment I am pleased with and am now looking to optimize my room. I am hoping to take a step wise approach making incremental changes addressing the most problematic areas first. I hope that Ethan and the assembled experts will provide direction in my quest.
This is a living room used for HT and 2 channel listening with certain aesthetic restrictions. So being creative will be part of the journey.
I would assume the most important bits of information (excluding the room specs) are the speakers and what I wish to accomplish.
I currently have a 7.x.4 system. The "x" is because of the plethora of bass drivers in play.
I am hoping to tighten up the bass a bit and improve the soundstage for two channel listening.
One of my first questions has to do with dipole speakers in general and Magnepans in particular. Based on what I think I understand about dipoles is they have a cardioid radiation pattern (figure 8) with little sound radiated from the sides. Since the 2,7s are ~6' tall they should act to some degree like a line source. My question is, how do these factors affect the reflection points?
My room is 25'x15'x9' with the fronts on a short wall. My current seating position is about 10' from the rear wall (40%).
I will either add drawings to this post or subsequent posts as the room is not a perfect rectangle. I have REW and a calibrated microphone and generally know how to use it. I can provide measurements but would appreciate direction in where to measure, and which measurements/graphs would be of most use.
Thanks in advance for all help provided.

- Front - 2 Magnepan 2.7 QRs running full range.
- Front Bass - 2 Dual 12" OB servo controlled woofer cabinets connected in parallel with the Magnepan 2.7s ~20-50hz.
- Center - My own design crossed over at 80hz
- Surrounds - 2 Mirage OM 26.
- Rears - 2 Magnepan MMGs
- Sub woofer 1 - 15" sealed servo sub.
- Sub woofer 2 - 2 Sealed 10" Dayton Titanic drivers in separate sealed enclosures driven by a Crown XTI amp with DSP.
