Hey everyone, its been a long time that I wanted to treat my room, and finally I a relative cheap price because I have a friend who is a
carpenter.
now the thing is I want to make panels for the walls, and some bass traps.
because I'm a student, I may move apartment so I want to build something that is not permanent.
the room is a production/mixing room.(mostly electronic music with decent bass but a lot of rock and blues too, if it has impact on the tips:).
the measurement of the room is 2.7*2.8 meters, there is a window in the room also.
I'm uncertain if I should build panels that are 60 cm wide, 1.80 cm height, and about 5-6 cm thick(which is the thickness of a rockwool mattress) and hang them with an air gap of about 5 cm from the wall, or should I just build them 10-11 cm thick with a two rockwool mattresses on top of each other and hang them straight to the wall without an air gap, not sure what will be more effective acoustic wise.
and for the bass traps: I'm thinking of building the same panels but maybe thicker, like 15 cm thick with more dense rockwool mattresses, and they will be placed in the corners of the room in the triangle between each two walls, with an air gap inside the triangle that this placement will form.
what is the panels placement that recommended for the situation?
also, what is the recommended density of the rockwool for the wall panels and for the bass traps(I assume the bass ones should ne more dense).
the density's that is available here is 80 kg per cubic meter r or 120 kg per cubic meter.
I know they maybe more effective ways to treat but they are much more complex..
the panels frame will be made out of wood of course.
the room itself have one wall which is concrete(the right one, and all the rest are regular.
this specific room is almost empty beside on closet and the computer desk which is wood.
also how many panels should I build.
if it has something to do with the decision, I have Adam audio a77x 3-way monitors.
thank you very much!
