Hi Ethan-
I was wondering if you've ever given much thought to Cork's acoustical properties? Specifically, in how it might do as a panel. Given it's porous nature but firm surface, I thought it might have both absorptive and diffusion properties...or maybe it would just do both jobs badly. Any thoughts?

Thanks Michael for chiming in, and I agree with all you wrote. Cork looks nice, and you can stick push pins in it. But it's not great for acoustic treatment.

Cork looks good on the wall though. I was thinking of putting cork on the entire front wall see the colored part of the picture - treating also all the spots with absorption panels and bass traps. I’m assuming it will not add too much absorption - for a mixing room, correct?

As I recall cork absorbs about 30 percent, though the frequency range depends on its thickness. So it will not be too absorptive. But the front wall is probably the last place to worry about, other than for bass traps, because your speakers send most of the sound the other way.
