Hello, I have stepped up my game and entered the world of DIY speaker making. I am curious if someone has any ideas on finding cheap crossover parts. Dayton express has very cheap parts and it seems stores like mouser, and digikey has slightly more expensive parts so I can't imagine if anything cheaper exists with the same quality. But, Dayton express unfortunately only stocks Janzten air core inductors with a few of there own brand which are not much cheaper. Any ideas if these exist anywhere for a better price? I found this www.arrow.com/en/products/aiac-4125c-r380j-t/abraconbut firstly its not a .35 for some reason Arrow doesn't have it in .35 and only has the .38 secondly it doesn't look like a typical passive crossover inductor any ideas if it is the same? Obviously if it was .35. The dayton product is this to compare www.parts-express.com/jantzen-audio-035mh-20-awg-air-core-inductor-crossover-coil--255-030

I've had good luck with Parts Express. If you can get the exact values you're better off but in a pinch, a close value will work but your x-over freq will be a little different. That part from arrow is a surface mount so it might be difficult to solder.
Also, When you're building an x-over, since the coils and caps can get rather large and heavy, consider a way to secure them to the PCB such as tie-wraps or hot-glue. When it comes to ordering caps, don't skimp on the voltage rating. Over rating the voltage will never hurt you (except size, weight and price). Check you intended max power amp output and calculate the max voltage at the max power at the intended Z (ohms). V= √(P*R)

Thanks Rock, I might stick with Parts Express.
I thought there might be something I don't know about but it seems Parts Express is the one.
