Hi Ethan
So far I was using 2 layers of 3.5'' inches ultra touch for bass traps because they are not really 3.5 but 2. 5 - as much as I tried to make it 3.5 it did not work -- maybe it will become eventually in the panel --and with a tiny compression the double layer fitted in a 3.5 fame.
I was thinking of trying to use now the original 3.5 without doubling it - - do you think it is a good idea or the fact that the actual thickness being 2.5 instead of the claimed 3.5 will compromise its performance ?
many thanks

Doubling it is probably better if the extra cost isn't a problem.

Ive read somewhere that ultratouch denim beyond 3" thickness will start to internally reflect the sound

I know you've already invested in that stuff but could you use OC 705 or 8lb mineral wool?
