I had my room almost empty. Quite big desk and "big" speakers and heavy duty stands and some random objects left from building, were in the room. All walls drywall, painted. Here's how the decay sounded: Verbs.m4a (123.7 KB). Bear in mind, this was just only recorded using iPhone 6 built in microphone. I was quite suprised how long the decay was, and its sounds to me like (almost?) real reverb.

Wow, that's impressive! What are the room dimensions? And where was the "mic" and the source?
Thanks

W ~ 10ft, L ~ 16ft, H 8.5ft. I think I just placed my phone on a stool that was there. Not quite in the center, maybe more towards back of the room. I was clapping almost next to it, didn't go like all the way to the other wall to "maximize" verb or anything.

That's crazy. No diffusion?

Small rooms can have real reverb if they're totally empty like yours. There are probably flutter echoes in there too, but each is masked by the others having different timings. My two-car garage is a little larger: And it has real reverb: Garage.mp3 (328.11 KB)

I didn't notice any flutters, no matter how hard I tried to listen, that's why I was quite surprised. Probably to do with the masking? It was sounding quite good.

mp3, Ethan? I think your account has been hacked.
I'm tempted to take all these impulse responses and make a sample pack. We'll be rich!

Can you make good quality out of my ip6 recording? I'm encouraging you to take it and make a sample!

Seems like an interesting challenge. I know I can load sounds as impulse responses into MConvolutionMB but I've never tried. Noisia has a video where they do it. youtu.be/FE5SKynR8QE?t=167
