Hello. I am conditioning my control room (home studio) and I want to place two corner bass traps in the back. Being a sleeping room, the "back wall" is a closet, which serves as a storage area. Because I need to open the doors of that closet, it is not convenient for me to fix the corner panels in the closet, so my question is if it is possible to replace the function of the walls with two pieces of wood that act as the background (instead of to use the wall/closet intersection as background). This way, I could move the corner bass traps when I needed to open the closet doors, and then place them back in their corresponding corner, maintaining the corner panel seal. I don't know if this will decrease its effectiveness, and if it doesn't, can you suggest the right thickness for that new bottom? From already thank you very much.

Yeah, you can mount "on-wall" as it's called. It doesn't 'decrease' effectiveness so much as not enhance it.

Thank you very much for your answer. Any suggestions about the thickness of the background wood?

I'm not a construction expert but I imagine plywood under an inch thick should be fine. You don't want it too heavy and, depending on the absorbing material, it probably won't need to support much weight.
