Hi All, Recently I have decided to finally accousticaly treat my home studio in the attic. I was reading a lot on this topic and came up with a basic idea on how should I proceed. I have built 12 broadband absorber panels (1200x600x50mm) using Rocksono Base isolation (stone wool, ca. 35 kg/m³). I have purchased a measurement mic (Behringer EMC8000 pointed up to the ceiling at the listening position) and did a few measurements using REW. The room was with the furniture, carpet, studio desk, piano etc.. but without any panels in the room. Here are the REW files: L R.mdat (1.43 MB) L.mdat (1.84 MB) R.mdat (1.84 MB) Here is the link to the Google Sketchup project of my attic. - The ceiling is made of plaster with heavy insulation. - The short wall on the right side from the listening position is concrete, same as the huge wall on the left. - The wall behind piano is also plaster with 70mm rockwool insulation, same as the wall behind the listening position. - The short height wall in front of the listening position is just mdf with no insulation, and the cavity is used as a storage. - The floor is just laminate. - The door left to piano leads to the staircase and the other leads to the laundry room. - There is also a roof window above the listening position. The speakers I use are JBL LSR305. Questions: 1. Do you think this is the right listening position? Based on what I can see in REW, it seems as a good position. 2. How should I distribute those 12 panels and what types of bass traps would you advice as the next step? I am planning to build bass traps myself.
