In reference to Phil Cramer's drawings of bass trap designs from Ethan's web site, I have a couple of questions specific to the low bass trap design:
1. Can the low bass design work spanning a 90 degree corner? 2. I already own some 2" 703 equivalent. Would the extra thickness be a disadvantage in this design?

Yes, I believe that a few reasons are that they are tricky to tune to the desired frequency and that's important since they have a fairly narrow bandwidth and they require fairly precise construction to be airtight.
I don't know the critical design parameters but I understand that the purpose of the insulation is to flatten the "Q" (widen the band) but without knowing how or if the volume is a factor or not, I can't tell you if 2" can be used in Ethan's design.
If you straddle a corner, how would you construct the panel? You could use the existing wall behind as the rigid back but that would greatly increase the volume and again, I'm really unsure how that will affect the tuning. If you build as per Ethan's plans but install straddling a corner, you will need to add a rigid back instead of using the existing wall as you can if it's installed directly on one wall.
All these things I don't know compel me to take Ethan's advice and use porous absorbers instead. OTOH, if you are determined to use resonant panel absorbers, as they are not without advantages, if you research the operating parameters, with some experimenting and a little luck, I imagine you'll succeed.
