Hi, the room in question is (underground) a 8 foot ceiling, almost 15,50 x 10,50 foot. With some fancy issues... and materials ready. See the photo. The room is in the upper left position. Pros: no big windows, QUIET. Cons (issues): small window underground (humidity, moist air), Arc hole opening connected to other big room, bumpy ledge sticking out (probably tubes), close to a grill with holes, close to a complete opening (no physical door)... than there is the following angle, with a common door (this door leads to another room). 2 walls are external perimeter, 2 walls internal. Materials ready: polyester 1'' thick (40 pieces now, plus 40 soon), 4 professional absorbers panels (bought from professional acoustic company, thin but high performance tested),6 skyline diffusers. Purpose: mixing DECENTLY electronic-dance,bass oriented. Monitors 6'' front ported. How to decide the monitors position? How to treat the bass in the double doors corner (1 open) ? How to solve all the Cons issues? Will it be useful in future having 2 other room connected? (simple question: once the room is treated, will it handle 8'' monitors? Without lowering quality? Or even a sub?)

With acoustics, small things like ledges and ceiling beams etc have little affect. If you need to seal the window with plastic, that too has no acoustic impact. So all of the advice in this forum's READ THIS FIRST sticky posts applies to your room too.

Hi, felix. I don't fully understand your question. Are you planning to use 1" thick absorption in that room? Your room is about 1350ft3 which is on the small side. Those dimensions will probably require thicker absorption to achieve desirable results. Emphasize absorption until decay and SPL targets are met before concerning yourself with diffusion.
Thanks.

So the arc window requires to be sealed, with plastic, same for the grill, then all the common posts can be applied. Of course I put 1'' thick absorption panels, but adding more layers (1'' plus 1'' plus 1'' reaching the correct thickness).
I see a lot of studios in your site with bass traps and other panels. But they are higher (high ceiling) than our standard 8 foot ceiling. Basicly they have a way better starting point (great advantage).
Could it be a null between ceiling and floor at the listening point? How to deal with it?
Thanks fo the answers.

If you bought treatment panels from a "professional acoustic company" you should ask them for advice. They know their products best, and they owe you the support! In the mean time, you can stack 1-inch thick panels to be thicker, and you must do that if you hope to improve bass frequencies!

Or even a sub?) For some reason, I understand your question now. Something tells me this same question was resolved elsewhere on this forum by rock. Electronic music has the same basic audio properties as anything else so that variable can be eliminated. If you make 4" panels by stacking, as Ethan advised, you'd eventually end up with 20 4" panels which is what I have. I also have nine 47x32" super chunks. Open doors are similar to infinite absorption, assuming the sound doesn't come back in. You can place absorption over the doorway but the panels will have a different effect as compared to if there was a wall there. In my room, leaving the doors open reduced ringing. From what I understand, probably upwards of 99% of home studios compromise somewhere. It's relatively difficult to attain a "perfect" room IAW the acoustical specifications wrought by esteemed organizations as opposed to "working with what you got". In other words, do what you can. Take measurements and try to squeeze out the maximum value of your space and tools. Thanks.
