Hi, i am from india. I have recently moved into a single room home recording where i track, mix and master all in a single room.
Details about the room
The room is practically a cube of 11ft x 11ft x 112 inches in heightwith a loft for storage on the western side of size 11ftx 2ft x 29inches
Room has a couple of windows made out of wooden frame and glass
1. On northern side 33inches x 4 ft
2 On eastern side 4ft x 4ft
3.A door 7ft x 3 ft below the loft on west
It has a Custom Studio table with all the gadgets i need for
my simple music production.
I record vocals and acoustic guitar here and also use my synths and Maschine Mikro mk3 here
More details on room
Walls are made of brick and plastered with concrete and painted
Roof and floor are made of poured concrete and floor has vitrified tiles on top of concrete.
I had no other choice to choose this room as every bedroom in my apartment is practically the same
Studio Monitors: Yamaha HS80M active decoupled from studiodesk with monitor pads
I recently went on to treat my room with a guy who makes custom panels here
Details
Cylindrical Bass Traps in four corners
Behind my studio monitors 2 numbers 11 inch diameter x 7 ft stuffed with Rockwool
2 numbers of 8 inch diameter x 7 ft height on back ( i chose to go for a smaller diameter as at one corner the basstraps would be wedged between wall and door and if i use a bigger one i would not be able to open the door)
I chose the height to be 7 ft for all Bass Traps as there is a loft on western side above 7ft. So i wanted basstraps all of equal size on all corners
I have 6 movable panels of size 4ftx 2ft x 4 inches stuffed with rockwool on wooden frame treating the reflection points and also the front and rear wall ( as enclosed in a pic below)
I have not treated the ceiling yet as i have to dismantle the fan. I chose to stuff the loft with unwanted items as i thought it would act as a diffuser
All was well until i did a project recently when i heared a flutter echo of the highs. So i went on to explore more. This mettallic sound occurs when i do a hard clap in the room and lasts for a second and fades away and its been bothering me a lot.
Can someone advise me On how get rid of it?
1. Should i get a ceiling cloud?
2. Diffuse with ceiling mounted Skylines?
3.Is this room properly treated. If not can someone advice me what to do?
I have an extra 4ftx 12inch dia bass trap but since its the highs that flutter im not sure if mounting it on ceiling is a good idea.
Your advice would be much appreciated
Sorry for posting pics without my monitors.Have given them for service
TIA
