Bad sites like gearspace.com delete threads with mentions about some plugins. Plugins by Ove Karlsen: multiband mlim (alpha): no farts from squeezing waveforms, any loudness can be supplied; other version is singleband mlim which is ex ihsan adaptive limiter from 2005. Millennium plugin suite by Karlsen. Arboretum ionizer and hyperprism pack. Prosoniq magenta, prosoniq dynasone. Flintlock juno. Reverbassisstant. Recently they have deleted my thread about best mb comps. It had comparison of many of them based on tests. Who knows any forbidden plugins, share. They try to make sound engineering a black art woodoo for their inner circle. Let's prevent their dirty dreams from coming true.

What distinguishes banned plugins from bad ones is true replication of analog waveforms. They never have ideal shapes and are always rounded and not stable. This randomization makes sound tasty and less harsh/cheap. Very easy and primitive math but forbidden to promote hardware. That's why we observe degradation of sound in movies. They now use emulations of lousy synths from 80s with definitely using lousy reverbs. Their choice of reverbs leaves much to be desired itself. Generally they sound dry and unthrilling. Video is itself cheap but sound makes it even worse. I remember clever use of sound even in small budget movies in 00s.

Another trick by corps and mistake by userz is to be seduced by advanceness in software. Usually this advanceness hides really powerful possibilities which could be achieved by chaining some simple non-all-in-one plugins. This correct approach is distracted away from masses.

Another trait of bad plugins in incorrect representation of treble. A plugin pretends like there is abundance of treble while in fact there are no frequencies above 10000per present. This can be checked in soloing that range in me compressor or freefilter by steinberg from 1998-2000. Bad plugins use wide crossovers so that frequencies 4000-10000p will be touched together with higher ones so the user will think that treble is present while in fact it's not. By that reason ~99% of multiband compressors and limiters fail to work as deessers as they destroy also the weak treble if it's present of course. This also explains why users fail to recognize tinny sound of low budget chinese microphones and wby boosting treble boosts noise instead of upper harmonics.
